Support Committee

We work to keep the program free for cadets, so that there are no barriers to access to the program. This doesn't mean that there are no costs to running the Corps.

Fundraising helps us with facility costs, training materials and complementary activities such as movie nights, sports nights, recreational trips and more. The Support Committee manages and raises funds for these purposes.

Cadets are required to participate in fundraising efforts through the year.

The Corps Support Committee

The Royal Canadian Army Cadet program is a partnership between the Department of National Defence, who is responsible for the training and administration of cadets, and the Army Cadet League of Canada – through local Support Committees at the Corps – who fundraise to support the delivery of the program in our community.

The Support Committee is a group of individuals who volunteer their time to support our cadet corps throughout the training year.

Interested in volunteering?

Volunteering with 1112's Support Committee is a great way to contribute to youth in our community. Many of our Support Committee members are parents of current or former cadets, and ex-cadets, but anyone can volunteer and help with these efforts. The Committee is always looking for new members willing to help out! All interested members must be cleared with a background check, including a police record check and a vulnerable sector check to allow members to work with youth.
